Mold structure analysis and parts classification

There are many types of molds. Due to functional similarities, the parts that make up the molds often have the same structural characteristics in different molds. Take the typical injection mould and stamping mold structures as examples to analyze to find the processing rules of mould parts.

一. Basic structure of injection mold

According to its use function, it can be divided into seven parts: molded parts, pouring system, guide mechanism, ejection device, lateral parting and core pulling mechanism, cooling and heating system and exhaust system.

1. Molded parts

It refers to the parts that make up the mould cavity, mainly including: punches mold, concave mould, core, forming rod, forming ring and inserts, etc.

2.Going system

It refers to the plastic flow channel in the mould from the nozzle of the injection molding machine to the cavity. Ordinary pouring systems are composed of main channels, runner channels, gates, cold material holes, etc.

3.Guiding mechanism

In plastic molds, it mainly has the functions of positioning, guiding, and withstanding a certain side pressure to ensure accurate closing of the moving and fixed molds. The mould clamping guide mechanism consists of guide posts, guide sleeves or guide holes (opened directly on the template), positioning cones, etc.

4. Ejection device

It mainly plays the role of ejecting the parts from the mold, and consists of an ejector rod or a ejector tube or a push plate, an ejector plate, an ejector fixed plate, a reset rod and a pull rod.

5. Lateral parting and core pulling mechanism

Its function is to disengage the lateral punch or extract the lateral core. It usually includes parts such as inclined guide posts, bent pins, inclined guide grooves, wedge blocks, inclined slide blocks, inclined grooves, gear racks and other parts.

6. Cooling and heating system

Its function is to adjust the mold process temperature and consists of a cooling system (cooling water hole, cooling water tank, copper pipe) or heating system.

The basic structure of the die can be divided into process parts and auxiliary parts.Process parts include working parts, positioning parts, unloading and ejection parts, etc.; auxiliary parts include guide parts, support and clamping parts, fastening parts and other parts.

1.Working parts: mainly composed of punch mold,concave mold, convex and concave mold and cutting edge insert.

2.Positioning parts: composed of positioning pins, stopper pins, guide pins, guide plates and fixed distance side blades, etc.

3.Unloading and ejection parts: composed of pressure plate, unloading plate, ejector, ejector pin and push plate.

4.Guide parts: mainly composed of guide posts, guide sleeves, guide plates and guide cylinders

5.Support and clamping parts: composed of upper and lower templates, mold handles, convex and concave mold fixing plates, backing plates and limiters.

6.Fastening parts and other parts: composed of screws, pins, springs, lifting handles and brackets.

. Classification of mould parts

Although there are many parts that make up the mold structure, and their functions, shapes and usage requirements are also different, from the analysis of the processing technology characteristics of the structure, they can be roughly divided into four categories: sleeve parts, rod parts, plate parts and molded parts.

1.Bushing parts: including guide posts, guide bushes, gate bushings, mold handles, positioning rings, etc. in the mold.

2. Rod parts: including ejector rod, reset rod, push rod, pull rod, etc.

3. Plate parts: including templates, backing plates, unloading plates, push plates, pads, etc.

4. Molded parts: including punch mold, concave mold, core, cavity, etc.
